I’ll be conducting an all day (12 – 6PM) blacksmithing demonstration in East Hampton, CT on Oct. 19th as part of a history day celebration. I’ll be happy to answer any questions I can about setting up a functional gas, charcoal or bituminous coal forge, recommended start-up tooling, basic skills, etc. for homestead use.

Our daughter will also demonstrate spinning wool fiber throughout the day. She often allows adults and children to try their hand at the spinning wheel. Knowledge of both of these trade-crafts has preparedness value and we’re always happy to share our experience with others.

This is a non-commercial endeavor and there’s no fee for admission or for historic trades demonstrations. Food and live entertainment are also part of the celebration.
