Canned up some cow

    Hello All, Me and my wife just canned up 125 lbs of hamburger meat. The local store had in on sale for $1.99 a pound. Canned 4 gallons of homemade chili. Canned 4 gallons of homemade beef stew. Made 20 lbs into meatloaf. The rest we dry canned. We canned some about a year ago. Daughter can’t tell the difference when we put it in a meal. We made a lot of cheap meals.

    How did our grandparents and great grandparents ever can enough product for an entire year? We canned for a total of 3 days. Both of us working on it and maybe 75 or 80 meals.

    Its hard work.

    I am using 2 All American 921 pressure cookers.

    Still continue to search for information on canning in 1/2 gallon jars.
