    THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN JACKSON HAS ISSUED A

    * FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS…
    NORTHEAST LOUISIANA AND MISSISSIPPI.

    * FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT

    * A POWERFUL UPPER LEVEL JETSTREAM WILL COMBINE WITH INCREASING GULF
    MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON TO TRIGGER A ROUND OF
    HEAVY RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS FOR LOCATIONS GENERALLY ALONG AND
    NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE TWENTY CORRIDOR. THESE RAINS WILL COME ON
    THE HEELS OF OUR RECENT WIDESPREAD 1 TO 3 INCH RAINS THIS PAST
    HOLIDAY WEEKEND. AN AXIS OF AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 4 INCHES IS LIKELY
    IN ABOUT 18 HOURS BETWEEN MID AFTERNOON WEDNESDAY UNTIL THURSDAY
    MORNING. LOCAL AMOUNTS COULD EXCEED 5 INCHES IN PORTIONS OF NORTH
    MISSISSIPPI ROUGHLY SOMEWHERE FROM AROUND YAZOO CITY TO COLUMBUS.

    * ALREADY WET GROUNDS ALONG WITH MANY RIVERS RUNNING AT LEAST HALF OF
    BANKFULL WILL RESULT IN RAPID RUNOFF WHERE THUNDERSTORMS BECOME
    NEARLY STATIONARY FOR SEVERAL HOURS AT A TIME. RESIDENTS IN
    NORMALLY FLOOD PRONE LOCATIONS SHOULD PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE
    DEVELOPMENT OF HEAVY RAINS DURING WEDNESDAY NIGHT.
