Food preps – need advice

    My family’ is really trying to eat healthy and get off potential GMO/Monsanto/Frankenfoods. This is causing problems with my food preps because most of the things that prep books tell you to get is canned or processed “foods” that really have little nutritional value.

    Should I get them anyway? I don’t want to be a food snob, but I also want my family to get some nutrition and be physically strong in a disaster situation.

    Do you all think that gardening, canning at home, fishing, hunting (we have wild pigs on our land), keeping livestock, and preserving foods myself would be enough?

    What are others doing? With the turn out at the stop Monsanto march the other day in Hilo, I can’t be the only person that thinks this way. Any help or advice is appreciated.
