Freeze Dried or Dehydrated?

    I have a general question. My long term items are freeze dried products with a long storage life. I have looked into buying a freezer dryer just can’t justify the expense.
    I talked to another person. They said they dehydrate there food. Grandpa had a dehydrator. He did fruit and made beef jerky.

    What are the advantages and disadvantages to both processes?

    Just wondering.
