I always wanted to be a mountain man, I’ve just settled on the smaller ones. Not new to prepping just to your site. As a boy scout the motto is to “be prepared”. I’ve always taken that to heart. I have a 134 acre farm on a small river. We raise meat goats and chickens, have 34 fruit trees, 100 x 120 market garden, raised beds for the kitchen garden, herb garden and plans for more. we canned over 300 quarts of produce last season. This year we are putting in a berry patch with elderberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, and gooseberries. We eat wild game, deer and turkey. We would like to put in a cooler for processing the game. Prepping came in handy when I lost my job of 23 years in 2009. I’m looking forward to learning some new things. I am a big reader of survivalblog.com.
