    I just picked up the news on another forum that the author of man Prepper related stories TOM (Tired Old Man) Gary Ott passed away on December 29th, 2015
    TOM was the inspiration for my and many others introduction to the Internet Community of Preppers. His stories were solid in their portrayal of items and techniques for survival and did so in excruciating detail. I believe that a large part of his start was on the older forum of the insane tree rat & infamous religious nut job whose name & forum I hesitate to mention. Mr. Ott rose above the politics of that forum and went on to entertain and inform many.
    May he rest in peace and preparedness.

    Just FYI his wife Sharon J. Ott passed away in mid-July of this year in Palmdale. Would’ve been fascinating to hear what she thought in real life about Gary’s portrayals of the family members in his stories.
