The use of water wheels has been used for centuries to power stationary tools and machines. The down side of water wheels is that they are stationary and can be wiped out by a flood, you also need moving water. I read about a guy that wanted to use 55 gallon barrels to make a pontoon platform to generate electicity for villages in third world countries. It got me thinking about all the things you could do with a pontoon boat platform. Downside is you may need larger rivers, but these should be flood safe. So I thought I’d pass this thought along to let everyone else’s mind go wild with ideas.
