Yes! I wouldn’t use them normally unless my tires were pretty much worn. But them and an air tank will keep you moving.

arkieready replied to the topic Which duct tape is best? in the forum A.N.T.S. 2 years, 5 months ago
Thank you, founder ant. That was informative. I’m a believer in gorilla tape. Yes, it’s expensive. But……….
I like having different sizes, too. They make extra wide, and even better, 1” wide rolls.
better tapes keep their adhesives on better. Cheap junk seems to leave more residue on a surface. -

A long piece of spaghetti, dry. Makes a good long “match”. I used to use it to light my furnace. I taped 2 together for a bigger flame. Or a regular match taped to a pencil.

Not an error, but, trying to regain some of the good parts of the old, like state forums. Do we just start a new thread under the old header? Is there a better way?

Welcome from your eastward neighbor. APN isn’t based on the stereotype you illustrated. I’d say the median age is “up there”. Some of the most liked characters are even “old”. We are regular people living regular lives who don’t want to get caught with our britches down in an “event”. Whether the event is a snow storm, job loss, or grid-dow…[Read more]

Dmwalsh, that is the same recipe I use. Just made a small jar of dry mix last week. DS works in a hot shop and takes a weak dose during the day when he feels he needs replenishment. We find it doesn’t taste great when you don’t really need it, but tastes absolutely “ok enough” when depleted.
In ordinary maintenance use, I’d suggest drinking…[Read more] -

Welcome to APN. Why not dehydrate food you prepare yourself? You will know the ingredients, it’s cheaper than prepackaged. Just an idea.
Prep on. -

This is in NW arkansas now.

The allergy goes much beyond avoiding a large juicy steak. This would be a real game changer
Not very encouraging. I’ve been treated for Lyme’s disease and was bad enough. -
arkieready replied to the topic MAY 2018 – What Did You Do To Prep This Week/Month? in the forum General Preparedness Discussion 2 years, 10 months ago
Oh yay me!!!! I got a post to stick.
Wandered the yard today and collect wild greens for a fried rice supper. Couldn’t find fat bacon leaves so I defrosted a small package. Onions garlic and asparagus from the garden. Had to flavor up the flavorless minute rice from the night before. -

Not as accomplished as many of you ladies. Let’s see. Garden, waterbath canning (dh bought me a pressure canner-gotta try that next), build chicken pens, play a fiddle, make wine & yogurt & sauerkraut (sourcrap–kid name for it). I do the home repairs & painting, basic auto repair, minor plumbing. Deliver kids & lambs, puppies & kittens.…[Read more]
I don’t know. Im just snooping around to see. It was down for so long, it was just a fluke that I clicked to see.
I think most moved to another site when this one got infested with spammers and adds and the old posts weren’t saved. I know Readymom still has hers, but I think there was another one that many people went too. I’ll try to remember which one it was. Or if anyone else knows, just post it. Readymom’s site I thnk is http://emergencyhomeprep.forumotion.com/
