Chickens? Did someone say Chickens??? Well this may be superfluous for those who have them, but here’s a bunch of chicken-stuff that you wont have to shovel. BTW these are smaller files so you should be able to get them all pretty qwickly.

The Foodsaver is the BOMB!!! I use it for everything from repackaging and freezing bulk meats, to dry sealing canning jars for sugar, salt and pasta, to packaging socks for hiking. Its great to store prep items to keep them dry and protected. I bought a case lot of cheapo pocket knives for potential trading/bartering. I oiled them all and…[Read more]

Note on old canned goods:

Whatever choice of fats you choose to store, the enemy is AIR. Oxidation occurs turning the fats in the oils rancid. Yes EV Olive Oil does have an extended shelf life over other forms of oil. Light is also an natural enemy as is heat. Light and heat should be taken care of if you properly store food in a cool dark area (root cellar, basement…[Read more]

Great kit!! It is very similar to my large trauma bag. A few of the things in there that I need to still get, but will have to get from a Doc, the lidocaine, and IV bags. You can’t buy those unlicensed. I diasgree with the CPR mask being redundant with the ambu-bag. That allows use for multiple casualties and/or a unequipped second responder.…[Read more]

rockinb,
I agree with native87 on separating, the wood room from the kitchen, and I will go a step further. If you are building the shed and the added work and materials are not an issue, how about adding a small smokehouse to the shed as well, you could vent the wood stove into the smoke house for cold smoking, and have a burner in the…[Read more]
