I agree with Forzenfox completely, Tai Chi would be worth trying but you have to listen to your body. If you are not able to do that, then investigate various weapons. You don’t have to kick or spin to handle a weapon well enough to defend yourself. With a bo staff, you use your arms most of the time and the movements are mostly just walking…[Read more]

Shelli, I’d say yes because it’s a form of kickboxing although mostly exercises, it is self-defense.
Austeria, I humbly bow before you! LOL!

This Fels Naptha soap on here is wonderful. I have several allergies to detergents and couldn’t use very many fabric softeners or store bought soaps anyway. There is no strong odor with this and the fabric is fine.
For a fabric softener I use this recipe:
2 c. white vinegar
6 c. distilled water
2 c. hair conditionerPour it all in a gallon…[Read more]

I finally found a local store that carries Fels Naptha. Of course, I had already stocked up on ivory. LOL!
Oh well, now I have both and have plenty to last for a while should I need it.

I’ve learned that soy is also good for hot flashes, but be careful because too much has a very strange side effect called “peristant arousal syndrome”. Your husband may not be able to keep up.

I used this laundry soap recipe listed here, and it works great! My colors are so bright and there are no harsh smells to stir up my asthma/allergies. Once again, thanks for sharing it.

I too am in a trailor, and since I have a victorian theme going I have been using hat boxes to store items as well. They decorate and hide extra sewing items, and some first aid supplies.

Nighthawk, where are you located? Why not put those black belts to use in a ministry program? Around here there are several Christian organizations that focus on Martial Arts.

I just wanted to add, I checked ebay for Fels Naptha, can’t find it around here, and a ton of stuff came up. Including kits (everything that is listed in this recipe). I just purchased a kit for $8.48 which includes shipping. May be a great way to get the stuff for those not finding these ingredients locally. Just FYI!

Thanks for all this info. I’ll start shopping for the ingredients myself. Being allergic to most commercial, I can’t wait to see if this works better for my allergies.

Can openers! Excellent idea. I had not considered that one at all. I have one in my BOB, but no other extras other than that one. So then should scissors be added as well? I know alot of people store up on cheap fabric and thread when they find them on clearance. Never know when you have to make your own clothing.

Kymber, I will check for my recipe and PM you with it. I had not thought of the brown paper bags, that would well since it fried, the bag would soak alot of the oil up. I’m only on the trail about 4-5 tops. Just love my fry bread, and I have the hips to prove it. lol

Probably true, but was thinking of something that would work for the trail. Guess pemmican and trail mix is ok, but I do love my fry bread. lol
