Re: Really, Really, REALLY Old Food! (From 2008-09-2010)

You DON"T make mayonnaise. You BUY it in a jar. You don't make pickles either! OR BUTTER! Prime foods. PRIME! They come from magic or elves, or wherever, but they are what I dump into a bowl, to make what i'm going to end up eating. This is a tough crowd to teach. When the cake mixes run out, ...

Re: Really, Really, REALLY Old Food!

Never fear Ray! And ReadyMom? I've been working thru all my old cake mixes. Here's a pic of my littlest with cupcakes we made from a mix that expired in '09. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c16/catfeet/Mobile%20Uploads/20160130_122317.jpg Tasted just fine. So fine, that my little greedy gut here,...

Re: Really, Really, REALLY Old Food!

I know we've discussed shelf life on here, but this is taking it a step further. What about questionable age? I had to move some food items and found that I had VERY OLD cake mixes from my 'have to prep and get a lot quick' days ... back in 2008! Does anyone know how you can tell if they may still ...

Re: Jonas, a whale of a storm

Here, in Central PA, we were forcasted (by the AMerican model) to only get about 12-18". Well, we got that ... overnight! It's STILL snowing and we're nearing THREE FEET! That's more close to the European model. Hubby has already been on our front porch roof and our back porch roof to keep the ...

Re: Reproduction Corn Drying Pan | Stove Top Dehydrator

Reb, I was thinking about something like that. You'll notice that the corner of the top is gone. Maybe I'll look for a cookie sheet at the thrift stores and chop off the corner. The only problem I see is the steam coming from all around the cookie sheet, which might be counterproductive to trying t...

Re: Winter Storm. We're in the RED!

Hubby got gas for our snowblower, as well. Cubboard are full 8) . High winds are expected for snow drift. Dogs will probably need a potty walk/area carved out. They aren't committing to anything on our local news, at this time. Even said 'possible snow'. :bored: -k
