Re: Armadillos

It is not easy to trap an armadillo using bait as they dig for their food. You are more likely to catch everything in your yard except the armadillos. Placing the traps by their trails and burrows is not as easy as it sounds. Walking around at night with a head lamp and a club or .22 works, but it c...

Re: April 2017 - What Did You Do To Prep Todayhis Week?

Found a shipping container to store some of my antique tools, the ones that will be good again in the future! I doubt they will all fit, but it is a start and may clear the air of some needless noise. "You don't need another anvil there are three in the shed! Just pull the truck around and be c...

Re: EMP strikes

We may think we are different, better, or more capable, but we're not! I am not saying being armed will not make a difference, it will for awhile. In the long haul the results will be the same. Look around, it is already here! Right in the good old U.S.A., there are places people don't go, people ig...

Re: EMP strikes

It may not be all or none! The truth - nobody knows what will happen following an EMP Event! There are too many variables to know the exact outcome, except in cheap fiction or as seen on TV. A month or two without power would sure clean out the deadwood (helpless and sickly) and mankind might be be...

Re: Starting this off

You do not know how to make a good first impression. Hello - take a survey, is not going to work outside the "no deeper than dust - world of Facebook". If you would bother to read old posts "that will take time and effort", you will find a great deal of information and plenty of ...

Re: To serve and protect...but for whom?

I would fall under the FR category as I work in a major trauma center (the only one in town). I will head home the moment I know it is breaking loose. My obligation to my family outweighs everything! I offer no apologies for this decision, and rest assured I won't miss any sleep either! Times have c...

Re: How do preppers keep from losing their minds?

While I doubt the value of storing entertainment, I do store a large amount of information I feel may have value. My concern is how to store it! What is the life expectancy of the various storage mediums and what is the life expectancy of the devices they are compatible with? Lots of statements out ...

Re: EMP-Korea Concerns & Discussions

What we need are deals! Get China to depopulate North Korea for a "Blind Eye" in the South China Seas! Get Russia to manage Syria like Stalin taught and we don't notice their activities in their former burgs! There are too many crappy little nations to ever have peace. Time to slice the pi...

Re: How do preppers keep from losing their minds?

Perhaps some of this is a generational view of entertainment. I could easily spend the rest of my life in my workshop fixing things or designing the proverbial better mousetrap and enjoy the every minute of it! Same is true for the greenhouses, gardens, woods, or my big shop full of really old, some...

Re: How do preppers keep from losing their minds?

I sincerely doubt there would be any time to get bored! Every time I spend time at the camp (which is now every week), I stay busy until I am dog tired and still never get everything done. If I had to consider security, as I will when something happens, there will be little time for sleep let along ...

Re: New:Black Bean Burger Mix!

I would avoid this product as a serving has 120 calories and 460 mg of sodium. You get around 5% of your caloric needs, but 19% of your daily sodium. I have tried this product and the taste is not bad for bean burgers. A single serving is not going to satisfy anyone, other than a seventy pound dedic...

Re: EMP-Korea Concerns & Discussions

Man, Reb, why did you leave yourself open? The Pelosi jokes could go on for days. Not if Swamp is cooking for her. Reb You have to eat it to find out what's in it! Hold on a minute! Wasn't it you that asked for my recipe for nightshade salad and raw chicken with a Polk Berry dressing? Or just go fo...

Re: Tinctures - please tell me more!

I make a different kind of tincture. I learned this from the older generation of migrant farm workers. They place cannibis in alcohol and let it site in a dark place for three weeks. They then dump/strain the plant material, and use the liquid on their joints after a long day in the fields. Soothed...

Re: EMP-Korea Concerns & Discussions

Reb...you dream about Pelosi? *writes note* That's terrifying! Yes, they are called nightmares. Reb Tormented She is really old! She is really rich! She is really simple! Isn't that a start to a beautiful and short relationship? Let me cook tonight, I have something very special and it's just for y...
