Re: This site sends and receives unencrypted traffic only...

the whole point is moot, troll is a troll and gets the ban hammer just the same. In this case, he announced his intent right off the bat so it makes my job easy. Thanks for playing Linux, have a nice day.

Re: 1880 Survival

ah ha, and that was my point. all the coolest gadgets in the world become instantly useless in a hurricane, major widespread power outage (inland hurricane here a few years ago) everything is connected now. Took just 2 days for the water lines to run dry. People in general refuse to accept the reali...

Re: Chicken run idea

burrowing is simple enough of a fix, lay heavy gauge wire underneath. The original plan calls for a hot wire around the bottom of it. I have aussie cattle dogs running here, there's nothing but moles burrowing around here.

Re: Chicken run idea

eh, a friend of mine up the road made a nice pallet pen for her chickens, turkeys and rabbits. Took her a week to build it and 3 days to find out that it wasn't worth building. The only thing she managed to actually keep penned up was the turkey. The hawks flying in were a pretty awesome sight to se...

Re: What are Your Experiences?

ROFLMAO, yep, I hear the whole "bug out" thing rambo or mad max style from lots of city folk who just can't wrap their heads around the whole concept of reality. "Bug in" refers to the whole stay put idea. Farm folks like me, we have no intention of packing up the SUV and heading...

Re: 1880 Survival

ROFL Fussy, you were cheery yesterday! I tend to agree with you tho. Dang crying shame is what it is. Idiot kids and young adults walking around blind with their brains warped by computerized cell phones. Its a phone for crapsake! Mindless, brainless and skill-less.....

Re: What are Your Experiences?

Donner Pass comes to mind Photon and if it was half as cold then as it is right now, I'd feel the same way they did! It's butt biting cold here this morning and every critter I have here is locked in the barn with the salamander going and it;s still cold! Hard to get around the whole freeze to death...

Re: What are Your Experiences?

Photon has a point. Back in "29, the population was half what it is now and a different set of values ruled the day. A new "great depression" comes along, it won't be like last time and I'd dang sure want a butt load of ammo!
