Re: 2013 Deer Meat

HIllbillyman, sawsall and a grinder? Seriously? LOL Yes, I am funning on ya. In all seriousness, I use 2 knives to butcher a deer and 2 more once my meet is cut off the carcass. I do all the major work with the deer hanging and throw away the head, guts and bones all in one shot. If I want ground me...

Re: Changes to the forum

you all are making mountains out of mole hills. All we're trying to do is make subjects of similar content all together, in one place so there isn't duplicate subjects all over the forum. So, if someone searches for portable toilets, they find all the information ever posted here on portable toilets...

Re: Those relying on gardens will die

PEOPLE lived thru it many didn't . Wish we had some of the survivors here so we could pick their brains. Earlier in the thread it was mentioned how there are a lot of "experts" chiming in on what will absolutely work, or will definitely fail. I agree. All we can do is make our best guess,...

Re: Those relying on gardens will die

oldasrocks, can you imagine this weather way back 150 years ago? 2 years ago we had a drought here. last year was cold and wet into May. Now this obnoxious winter. Think about living in a wood and sod shack in the middle of nowhere, no electric, no grocery store to run to. PEOPLE lived thru it, all ...

Re: Those relying on gardens will die

Paints, can I send your post to my two adult step-sons? They haven't quite grasped the concept that being able to quote football statistics isn't a survival necessity. Reb LOL reb, sure ya can. I can relate to the frustration of trying to show the younger generation the "way". I always sh...

Re: Those relying on gardens will die

Swamp, if that ain't the d@mned truth, eh? Geez people, how do you think civilization has made it this far? There was no grocery store 100 years ago! If you were really lucky, there might have been a trading post within a days horse ride with flour or sugar there to buy or trade for but that stuff c...

Re: Those relying on gardens will die

if the measure of being well prepared was simply the "stuff" that can be accumulated from buying, I'd be screwed. I live with $700 a month worth of bills with a $500 a month paycheck. If it weren't for my garden, I would be forced to sign up for welfare and eat the garbage from the grocery...
