Pine Tree Uses

Postby JRSC » Fri Feb 05, 2016 3:16 pm

A white back, I began an OCD search on the nutritional value and uses of Pine needles. What I've learned is that pretty much a whole Pine tree has significant value for survival. Whether you are in a survival situation, looking for natural remedies or plain ole camping and you get curious a Pine tree is a major benefit for you.

Here's some sites that folks have recommended and I have found. Dig in and enjoy!

In addition to the uses explained in the websites, I'm going to experiment with the tea this coming deer season as a cover scent. If any of you hunters want to experiment too let me know how it works for you.

Welcome from a fellow Sandlapper.

Thanks for the great info on pine needle tea. We have (I think) loblolly (short leaf) pines in our yard and wooded land behind our house. I had no idea it had so many medicinal uses. Will certainly brew some tea and give it a try!

Thanks for the links!

Thanks Sandlapper. It's good stuff physically, but it's an acquired taste.

However, I'm not quite sure what the difference is, but from my gathering it seems that the White Pines tend to have optimum nutrition. But loblolly works too. I've had both.
