Re: Flu treatmentHi MEM - hope you are feeling better soon. If your condition is not to the point where you feel you need to go to a doctor, then I would agree that you should treat the symptoms. Sadly, I know of no magic pill. Remember to keep hydrated and eat healthy foods. If you had or are having fevers with any diarrhea or vomiting, you are losing a LOT of fluids. Re-hydrate with water, gatorade, tea, etc....pretty much anything without caffeine or alcohol. Also eat a few handfuls of spinach and make sure to eat some citrus fruits. I'm doing this every day in the hopes of avoiding your situation. Veges, fruits, nuts, berries, seeds, etc. will help your body recover quicker than eating non-nutrient packed foods. Also, don't forget to get lots of sleep.

Re: Flu treatmentAnother vote for Sambucol...my 4 yo had it (confirmed with a nasal swab) and symptoms were gone within 2 days. I had him on the intensive dose for kids. It's even better if you take it every day for maintenance all season long.
Re: Flu treatmentOne of the biggest risks with the flu is dehydration. Make sure to drink lots of liquids and take anti-diarrheal drugs like Imodiam. It's possible that the 1918 Spanish Flu killed so many healthy people in the prime of their lives because they purposefully dehydrated themselves to fight the diarrhea, but didn't force the elderly or very young to stop drinking water.
Re: Flu treatmentI found the cure!!! 96 ounces of coffee, one bag of bacon jerky, one pack of Austin peanut butter crackers, two oranges, and an apple!!! Either that or time could've played a small part in my 50% recovery so far...
Get ready...
Re: Flu treatmentIn Japan you would see that mask thing all the time, they sell them at the little kiosks by the trains.
Re: Flu treatmentSambucol (elderberry extract) four tablespoons a day actually has a study or two to back up it helps. Meantime, load up on anything over-the-counter that helps the symptoms, and drink a lot of fluids.
Re: Flu treatmentI got some useful links that I figured worth sharing...
The honey/cinnamon feels helpful, but the garlic/onion was like bam! http://www.activistpost.com/2013/01/avo ... edies.html http://www.google.com/search?q=elderber ... 8&oe=utf-8 Make your own elderberry syrup pretty cheap- http://wellnessmama.com/1888/how-to-mak ... revention/ One feller swears by this anti-plague juice, although I'm afraid to try it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6DSIX7Ije0 Another great suggestion I got was to boost my immune system with D3 and Iodine, neither of which I was getting enough of. Best of luck to anyone who comes down with the flu!! The first link is VERY informative. Get ready...

Re: Flu treatmentx2 on Dr. Bones. If you get sick and get Tamiflu quick it will help and if you share a home and others do not have it, it can prevent. Personal experience with this years flu pretty much convinced me.
