Special Operations my a**!!!!Moderators: mmpaints, BATTLEBOY SURPLUS Special Operations my a**!!!!So having met many veterans on APN I am amazed at how many former members from special operations we have among us. In fact, its almost unbelievable.....................(sarcasm).... There are probably more members of seal team 6 on this site than have ever even existed lol. You aint gotta lie to kick it guys. It's one thing to fudge the story about your service, or even serving, just to get into some girl's pants. However, to lie to another service member is......well just plain dead wrong. There is nothing wrong with being a support soldier, marine, airman, or well.....even a sailor (LOL the army vs navy thing never gets old) but there is everything wrong with being a "PX Ranger" or even worse having never even served at all. So lets be honest about what we did and, for god's sake, stop claiming to be a member of the 101st airborne ranger battallion..... because YOU'RE NOT FOOLING ANYONE!!! You know who you are!!!

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!Who claims to be special forces? I am a Navy ET. I have not seen anyone on the site claim to be a seal much less devgru.
Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!Proud support Soldier here.15Y. 2 years in Iraq and I never fired my weapon. Worked damned hard at keeping the Apaches in the air so the grunts would have someone to look up to.

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!
Was talking with another member when I mentioned that I was an Army 11B and someone tried to one up me by claiming to be an Airborne Ranger. I then asked what battallion he was from to see if he was indeed telling the truth since it didn't pass the smell test (guy had very little weapon or tactical knowledge from what I could tell) and I've heard several false claims before. Rather than claiming to be from the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Ranger Battallion he claimed to be from the 101st Ranger Battallion. Well.......need I say more? Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!My husband was 1st Battalion 2nd Marines in Iraq twice, and his beautiful mug is pictured on Wikipedia's page for 1-2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Battalion_2nd_Marines). No fancy MOS, just a hard-working grunt. : )

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!Marine Corp 1974-1977. And I am special in my own right, at least that is what my mother always told me.
Sorry to make light of this, but I swore off being upset at fake veterans long ago. Here in Minnesota we have more individuals with Vietnam veterans license plates than what served during the Vietnam war. Yes you heard me, there are more fake veterans running around with vanity plates claiming to be veterans of a foreign war, than what served. My brother has a Motor Vehicles office and has this plate, but he was on the U.S.S. Forrestal in Fire Rescue during the fire of 1967 and has shrapnel in his knees as trophies. But yet there are so called Minnesota residents that said they served that even existed at the time. So you need to let it roll off and just except that most people in this country have no honor left. ____________________________________________________________________________

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!Almost 9 years and counting AF EOD. I don't know why people feel the need to puff up what they do or did. If your a support guy own it and be proud, without you others wouldn't be able to do the more high profile jobs.

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!I have seen a few posts like the one the OP is referring to... Don't let it worry you to much its the internet. I am NOT a vet. But I do support them. I guess some people wish they had been and regret it so they say they are IMO .02

Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!I think the prepping lifestyle just attracts vets because being ready is part of the life. You drill for what if and worst case scenarios all the time. Heck within 48 hours of checking in on the boat you get blind folded and have to egress your berthing and work-center so you know the way if there is a fire or power failure. Thinking about the future and what could happen, not only in your line of work, but also in your life, leads naturally to prepping I feel.
Re: Special Operations my a**!!!!Active duty ARMY 2006-2010, ARMY Reserve 2012-Present
33/35T & 25B I can say that I was Airborne, and was attached to a Special Forces Group. I was not Special Forces but did lots of training with them, deployed with them, and worked with Navy Seals. Although I never left the wire in Iraq, we definitely saved lives with our Unmanned Aerial Vehicles we supported them with.
