Rickdun/new kit on the block

Postby rickdun » Mon Mar 09, 2015 5:55 pm

Hi from westcentral pa, i just joined up today (APN) and I am eager to learn just about anything about prepping. I have been stocking up for the past year or so and I believe I am pretty well stocked up for at least 6 months WTSHTF. I will be looking at the blogs for additional information.

I currently have two solar panels (45 and 165 watt) and 3 deep cell (AGM) batteries and 2 small generators. Does anybody out there think I need anything for additional power.

As far as heat, I have an oil hot water furnace, but I basically heat with my wood burner all winter long.

We have a gas stove and enough gas for about a year and I also have a coleman oven to put on my wood burner for cooking. I also have a old, old, old cook stove in the garage and it works real good, I have used it several times throughout the winter months.

Well enough said, can't wait to hear from any PA preppers or U.S. preppers.

I'm new here too, in Colorado. We have a good start on food storage and often think about cooking and water purification. I like to eat my my food warm and still worry about post disaster fuels and such. So since I like to browse the Kickstarter/Indiegogo type pages and see what new tech is coming out and saw this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/46 ... able-grill

Does this seem like a plausible solution since it touts itself as being portable and solar etc..? Thanks in advance for your thoughts and observations.

I'm not to far from Ebensburg either so we're not to far.

Hello everyone, I'm from Cambria county. Married and have 3 children, 13, 11, and 7 years old. My husband and I have been prepping for a long time but have recently stepped it up a lot, considering the world affairs.

We plant a large garden and have apple/pear trees and canned most of it. We have freezed dried meats and vegetables stored.

I'm in the medical field (RN) and hubby is in computer technology.

My dad and mom have a farm and raise cattle/chickens/rabbits, so I guess I'm a farm girl at heart.

All 5 of us hunt, fish, shoot bows, guns, etc., and are raising the kids the same way.

We're glad we found this site.
