I put row covers, ag rated plastic over the raised bed gardens.
They were in the upper 70s.
Last night we had a frost.
With the row covers and plastic I am a month ahead of planting.
Beware of the guy with only one Cast Iron pan . . . he likely knows how to use it.

always a crapshoot this time of the year - not a bad idea to have some insulation cover to go over that plastic sheeting - toss some mulch or hay on top ....

farmers are getting ready - some are putting $1,000s into an early planting gamble - plucky genius if it pays out - sorry azz loser for all to see if it doesn't ....

Well, I'm not quite there yet, Reb, but I'm working on it! :D Now, if I count the ones my husband has, I'm MUCH closer to it, as he has a couple of calibers that I don't...

Bought a circulated air egg incubator and egg turner today, since the broody hen has apparently decided that she didn't want to wait for the eggs to hatch before abandoning her post. So, got the incubator and moved the eggs from the nest into the incubator. I just hope that they still hatch. If not, I'll start over and just pull eggs for the incubator for a few days.

Rotated some food, took inventory of canning lids, we never have enough.
Made a pallet strawberry box, hope it works, we will see, tired of the frogs getting my strawberries, but love the frogs getting the mosquitos.
Deciding if we will get more chickens, the neighbors dogs cut our flock in half and got our rooster, so we are discussing this topic often. (More like how to tell the neighbor who does not speak English that we see your dog again you won't see him again)
Garden is ready to plant, seedlings are ready, just waiting till May 1st to put them in the ground.
Got a pig panel to stake tomato plants up with, tired of the wind knocking the plants with cages over.
Planted lettuce, spinach, radish, carrots.

Ah, been a long time. Good to be back! Finally got the Glock 19 I've always wanted. Rotated out a few food items, picked up some charcoal tabs and echinacea(both are good for snake and spider bites).

Rotated out 45 gallon of gasoline and 20 gallons of diesel.

Cooked up some knorr's noodles that were best by date of 4-2013, still tasted good.

Picked up a PTO log splitter at a farm auction for 375.00, couldn't get the PTO generator I wanted, why too expensive.

Yesterday was not a good day here up at 4 am no water , the impeller was shot it only lasted 15 years . Replaced pump and bladder tank , bladder had a hole in it . The three 5 gal buckets of pvc fittings i have on hand did not have all the parts needed to install the new pump and tank . So that was a 400 $ day , pump tank and parts not a great day .
On the three AR builds decided to go ahead and purchase all parts at one time to finish them the next day is when the pump went out .
Chicks are doing real well hatched off 12 and still have 12 running around the yard . The other hen is setting on 15 eggs hope to have more chicks in a few days .

Ajax, why did your well pump wait for good weather to quit? Not typical at all.
Mine went out three winters ago when it was zero degrees. That is more compliant with Murphy's Law.

Took husband to the PX to pick up his replacement computer (He had purchased the display model, but when he got it home, discovered that it couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi. Turns out, the ditz clerk had done a "reset" to clear it, but she did the WRONG reset, and wiped out the drivers  ) so they had one transferred down from another store. Anyways, while we were there, I decided to check the guns section...not really looking for anything, just looking to see what was there. Anyway, I found a Tikka T3 Lite S/S LEFT-HANDED in .270. Oh yeah, that baby is MINE! It is very rare to find a "lefty" long gun, so I jumped on it. Brought it home and put the scope rings on it, then mounted one of the three "extra" scopes I just "happened" to have in my top dresser drawer. :D

Another caliber closer to my sig line quote.
