Going to buy my water purifier/filter system next week. Any idea of the pros and cons on both the katadyn vs berkey?

We have used the Berkey with dual ceramic filters for years. It performs well, but a little slowly as it works by gravity, but that just takes a little planning ahead. When the filter units got a little grungy or slow, just take 'em out and lightly work them over with a toothbrush or scrubbing pad WITHOUT soap, and they're good to go again.

The katadyn is also a great brand, having more portable units suitable for bug out gear.

We have the Royal Berkey with the 4 Black filters and have not had any issues.... So far the Berkey has been the best home filtration system we have had...

We have Seychelle water purification bootles in all of our BoB, vehicle bags and for everyday use.

Hope I'm not too late in this post. We have both. The Berkey filters have more capacity, although as mentioned they are slow, but we also have the fluoride filters on it. We drink lots of water and refill our royal about every day. The Katadyn we have is great for camping and travel, but our filters need to be replaced more often. Both great, but prefer Berkey.

I don't know anything about the others.
I'm a big fan of the black Berkeys.
Been using them for years.
