Anchorage here

Hey, so I've been a member at this site for a little while now http://www.preparedsociety.com it's got a pretty consistent and well informed following of members that contribute all manner of guides, advice, and general prep knowledge. I think they'd love to have more members, and it would help since I'm apparently the only Alaskan on the board ;)

Hi from ???? well 65 miles North of Fairbanks and 27 miles South of Livengood... A little cabin in the woods.. The driveway has a sign "insured by Smith & Wesson" . If there are any Ham's out there maybe we can get a net started.

Well Hello all  . My wife and I live in Fairbanks and are retired military. She grew up here in FBKS so i retired here with her 12 years ago. We really never paid much attention to the world and politics until about 4 years ago. We were just talking and the subject of prepping came out and how we both had thought about it but were afraid to mention it to the other. That day we started laying out plans. She was food, medicine(natural) and I was defense, planning and mechanical. We currently have enough food for ourselves and protective items. I never would have imagined that she would have so tickled when I showed her a pair of AK-47's I bought, His and Hers.
We both dislike the current political, economic and social environment and with the increase in natural disasters we thought it best to prepare. Even though there is still a lot to do our "comfort" level has improved and we are semi-confident we could survive civil, social and climate events.
Hope you all are doing what is necessary to prepare.
BTW....anyone know of anyplace in FBKS that sells bulk hard white wheat? The natural store on Trainer Gate Road can't get any. :help:

Evilbro03, do you have anyone in Lower 48 that can reship to you? Emergency Essentials has super pails of it, but don't ship up here or if you can convince them to ship, they use UPS or FedEx, which may be okay for you if you live in town. No matter what their (FedEx & UPS) ads say, they don't deliver everywhere and we live in one of the no delivery areas. Another thing you may consider is going to the feed stores and checking out the large bags of wheat, corn, barley or oats from there. I know Coldspot has Delta grown barley and oats.

Evilbro03, I'm a member of the Wolf Lake Wellness Organic food buying club, and I can get Hard white wheat berries for .91 cents a Lb. through them. That includes shipping. They have a website, but I don't think they have a Fbks. area club...
They order it through Azure Standard if that helps, maybe you can order it directly though them.

My sister buys from Azure, in Oregon, and then sends me assorted lovely stuff from them. They don't deliver out here. For that matter, no one does, LOL.
