Glad to see you here. I live out the Elliott, north of town and seldom come in, except for fuel and groceries. My new past time is writing some books. I've been enjoying it very much and am hoping folks get some use out of them, too. Even the novels have ways to survive or live an alternate life style.

Hi and welcome to this Forum. Any and all information is pretty much welcome. We all know things that could help someone else at some point in time. I really like Valdez. It has been a few years since I made it down there, but starting down the other side from Thompson Pass is totally worth the whole trip. When gas was cheap, I would start out about 4 am from here, drive down, catch my limit and drive home that night. Not happening now, lol. I do miss it though and some halibut at the Halibut House. Now I beer batter some pike and dream.

Fairbanks now. South side of town, near Mitchell exp. Started out 9 years ago in Anchorage, came up to Fairbanks in 06. Left, sadly, in 09. Now we're back. For good!

Thanks Alaska Rose! Its so wonderful to be back. Alaska was the ONE place out of all the places I've lived that felt truly "home".

I know what you mean, I went "Outside" in August for a family reunion and could not wait to get home again. It was my first trip "Out" since 1998. I think it will have to be at least 15 more years before I try that again.

Glad to see you made the winter. Out here I still have quite a bit of snow, but it is melting even with frost every night.

Welcome and maybe read back through the posts here and you may find others in your area. That is a lovely area and I always enjoy the trips made to Valdez over the years.
