Stop whining and vote with your feet!

stormlion wrote:For me the issue is that its so very easy top get around it. There is no spot in NJ that is more than a hundred miles from a state that sells 30 round magazines. Gun Shows are big in the area and they almost always have a Flea Market with someone selling magazines under the table. The only thing a change in the law does is make it harder for legitimate firearm owners. A criminal would just leave the state and go buy what he wants elsewhere.

Not possible! Is that not illegal?

I plan on going to the hearing and there vague plans on moving. I would rather not as my family is mostly here and I have a pretty good job but I honestly have begun thinking more and more of moving west.

And yes, it is illegal, but there criminals so they brake the law and only a idiot Democrat would think a criminal wouldn't do something because its against the law. ;)

I agree with the voting with your feet policy. My wife and I were looking at places to move to when I get done with the military and she suggested moving to upstate NY by her family. I said that there is no way I would move to NY or CA or MA or a myriad of other nanny states but especially NY (I know you upstate folks are cool but the big city rules that state). If I lived in one of those states I would move even if I had to take a lower paying job. I know not everyone can just up and move but I feel that its important enough to seriously consider and since I am moving I can choose not to move there. Hopefully if enough people leave and/or dont move there they will get the message or more likely go bankrupt. Either way I wont live there and will enjoy my 30+ round mags in peace so

My plans are now to move out of Jersey next door to PA and commute to work. I hate to do it, I got a good place right now but the way things are looking Jersey is about to become a Socialist State. They had the hearing today even though there was snow on the ground and government offices were mostly shut down. Probably did it to have less people show up.

OK, I was wrong they didn't have the meeting last Monday. I got bad info. The meeting has been rescheduled for this Thursday. Got this from the NRA today. About 70% chance I will call off work and go.

-Magazine Capacity Bill to be Heard in Assembly Committee on Thursday-

On Thursday, March 13, the Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee will hold a hearing in Trenton on Assembly Bill 2006, introduced by Assembly Majority Leader Louis Greenwald (D-6). A.2006 would lower New Jersey’s magazine limit from 15 rounds to 10. This bill was originally scheduled to be heard last week; however, the Assembly committee hearing was postponed due to inclement weather.

This Assembly committee hearing is scheduled to be held in the State House Annex, though the committee room has not yet been announced. Please continue to contact members of this committee and respectfully urge them to oppose A.2006. The location of this hearing is provided below.

Hearing Information
Thursday, March 13 at 2:00 p.m.
State House Annex
125 West State Street
Trenton, NJ 08608

For those interested, please contact your Senators to oppose Bills A.2006 and S.993 that deal with the Magazine Reduction Bills /restriction on 22 caliber repeater rifles. It will probably go up for there votes next week.

Passed the Senate and on its way to governor Christie's desk. Here is hoping he tosses it where it belongs, in the trash. It will help if people e-mail or call too.

in the long run this kind of state restrictions won't mean squat .... sooner or later Obammy or one of his disciples will command total gun bans on a Fed level ... 2A be damned .... Obammy probably won't get it done unless his master plan of martial law kicks in .... when the Supreme Court can be blackmailed into agreeing that forcing people to buy something is OK - they'll do anything

in the mean time .... it's a state by state for them .... stuff like magazine restriction are door openers ... just crack that door a little more open each time ....

Yes, here's hoping for the veto. That will be good, until next time and there isn't a Republican (or anyone pro-2A) in as governor.

I'm also a bit unhappy that the SCOTUS didn't take up the NJ carry permit case.

Absolutely. Been to Cabela's plenty of times (and replied on your meeting topic).

The occasion noted in the quote though was Tanner's in Jamison. Great store too.

Oh yes, I've been to Tanners. I bought some guns there too. They can be better priced than Cabela's although not as well stocked.

Didn't go to Cabelas that day, but I do like the store, have a silver card and some club points to spend, just haven't figured out what to spend them on yet.

You could go to Jersey for the beaches and the boardwalks and the partying. One of the fun things about NJ.
