I don't believe it is easier, cheaper or better. Have you ever owned a pool? Keeping liquids at the proper temp and ph is a full time job and the equipment, tools and chemicals to do this successfully is to laborious.

Right strokr, things still need to monitor thing. A lot of information and options on the internet.
Not sure on the easy part, cost in labor.
I have been researching for a while and collecting equipment on the cheap. Expect to get into operation this spring.
Good luck!

I have seen two systems in operation and both seemed complicated, time consuming and required a power source. If there is a simple system, that does not need constant attention and much electricity, I would be interested. Swamp

I'm pretty sure travis has a system that is simple seeing that he Travels the Globe on Mission trips setting them up in very poor areas... he has a yahoo group I belong to...

i have just started to do research on this & one person brought up the electricity problem, a dear friend of mine suggest a small water mill as a solution to the problem of transferring water, if one does not have electricity or the means to produce it

I added a lot about my system but it didn't show up. In short it's cheap to build and run. You don't have to buy a lot of stuff just the IBC's, fish, media and a little pvc. Ive had mine for 2 years and love it. Look on youtube. It cost me less to get started than get a tiller, buy the gas and plant a garden, And I don't have to weed it

Not sure what all you have around your area but if you can find a large bakery you might get some for free. We make bread where I work and use 4 IBC's a day The company we get our oil from picks them up but are not allowed to refill them. I get all i want for free. You might look for a Flowers or something like that. Might be worth a try.

Meddle, I have been searching for bakeries near me for them.
Have not found any as yet.
Thank you for confirming that as a source for them.
The best price from sellers are hours away, so ether high price or long drives.
Still trying to find the best option.
Hard to scout for them in bigger cities that are long distance from me.
