I wish I had known this program was here a lot sooner! I have been prepping for the last year or so, just got a feeling I needed to. I have been stocking up on medical supplies and growing a flock of sheep. Trying to work on food storage as well as learning how to grow some of my own. Also, trying to learn new things such as utilizing solar energy and wind energy. If you have any advice on prepping, I am willing to listen.

welcome, I am from the northern part of ND. We have a big garden here and do a lot of canning. I have a little area for a cow or two but not have gotten them yet. I am working on water storage and then some alternative power.

Thank you for the welcome!

Have there been any online group meetings or classes? Does anyone else have a concern about their pets shoult SHTF? What is the best way to stock up and store dog food? Is it best to keep it in the original bag or to portion it out and seal it? Does anyone have any good animal herbal healing information?

Are there any of the ND preppers that farm honey?

How about any good prepper humor?

I think the best way to store dog food would be in those big plastic bins with snap on lids that you can buy for cheap at Wal-Mart or else there are big blue barrels you could put it in. I am also new to this but I have seen people store there dog food in the bins. I live in Crosby, ND and I thought we were the only people in ND wanting to prep lol. I think this month we are going to build wood shelving in the storage room in our basement and start storing white rice in 2L bottles and canned goods. I have 5 children so we would need A LOT of food should SHTF!

Welcome from New York! I think it's interesting how many people are starting to prep and plan because they just "get a feeling." Before I started getting down to the business of prepping, I felt like I was crazy for acting on a persistent feeling of impending doom. It's good to know that we're all crazy here. ;)

Howdy from Grand Forks!

My family's outpost is north of town... Water shouldn't be a major concern for most people... what will be more difficult is the food supply and changing diets. I changed mine about a year ago. What does everyone have planned for food?? You can stockpile a-lot of soup and canned goods, but having vegetables and a garden is essential for survival.
