Handgun Laws in RI

I heard that handgun laws in RI suck, they're really restrictive and all. But hey, if you live in Rhode Island count your blessings that its not like New Jersey, there are few places in this country with worse gun restrictions than NJ.

Rhode Island's gun laws are restrictive, but not the worst in the US. The problem is that they are weird.... instead of having clear rules for specific circumstances, all carry of a pistol except to and from the gun shop, the gun range, and home is considered "concealed carry". That applies even if the pistol is carried on the end of a 10-foot pole like a flag, it's considered "concealed", so you need a concealed carry permit. Then they made it very difficult to get the concealed carry permit.

Any firearm with a pistol grip is considered a pistol.

Hunters can't use normal hunting rifles -- they have to use shotguns.

No limit on magazine size like Connecticut... so far.
