Everyone vote on the Universal Prepper Symbol. The proposed symbol is something easy to write by anyone with markers, pens, chalk whatever, and you can make stickers out of it, patches, whatever. It is a public domain symbol much like the Christian fish symbol or peace sign. Anyone who is a prepper can use this symbol. It is very simple. P!denotes any prepper of any skill level P+donotes a prepper who is also a medical professional. The symbol should be easy to recognize by most preppers who are "in the know" yet inconspicuous enough that most of the sheeple of the world will never know what it is. If you are too concerned about your OPSEC you do not have to use this symbol if you don't want too. But it is for those who wish to be recognized by fellow preppers. Invite people from other forums, blogs, facebook groups etc... to vote on this symbol Give them the link to this page so they can include their vote. For those who don't know, this symbol has been discussed and collaborated on by many people before coming to the agreement to put it to a final vote. You can read some of those threads here: viewtopic.php?f=89&t=25498viewtopic.php?f=89&t=26205The original thread that started the discussion viewtopic.php?f=235&t=25098

It was time to bring this to a close.

Glad to see an actual vote being taken.
When white man found this land.Indians were running it. No taxes...No debt,,,Plenty buffalo...Plenty beaver...Women did most the work...Medicine man free...Indian men hunted and fished all the time...
White man dumb enough to think he could improve on a system like that.

It wasn't my intention to kill the topic at all. The daily flooding of my PM box from people asking me to finally bring it to a vote is what prompted me to do this post. Feel free to continue to debate the topic in this thread and bring up new ideas if you want. The vote is up for 30 days and people have the option to change their vote if they want and even vote to go back to the drawing board, so the topic isn't dead now. The discussion can still carry on.

Clarification- If you choose to use a background color behind the P! here is what has been discussed: Dark Blue= law Enforcement/Legal Green= Gardener/Farmer Red= Firefighter/Pyrotechnician/Demolitionist Grey= Skilled tradesman, Machinist/Gun Smith/Carpenter/Mason/Electrician/Etc. Purple= Clergy, Any and All Black= Military, Active/Inactive Cammo P!= General Prepper Cammo P+= Medical, Physician/Medic/Surgeon/RN/Etc. Open Colors awaiting designation- Orange, Yellow, White
Feel free to suggest a color designation for whatever specialty you want. I can see this becoming a separate issue by itself so please remember this is a personal choice as is the use of P!. Use or not, your choice. There are not too many colors to memorize and I believe this would serve to further confuse anyone who becomes more than a little curious about the P!. Let's just say it could be used for some on site phycological OPSEC.

Is the low vote vs high views just a sign of dis-interest or a symptom that seems to have permeated our entire political system ? When apathy is the determining factor on how we live our lives, we reap exactly what we have sown. We need a fair representation of how people are feeling out there. So, get off your butts and push the selection of your choice. Otherwise you do not have the right to your opinion, or to complain, or whine and cry. Let's show those who monitor these sort of things that we do, after all have a mind of our own.

Although I viewed this thread I chose not to vote because I will not be using the prepper symbol so it would be unfair to cast a vote on something I wouldn't be using anyway. My feeling is that those who wish to use this symbol should have the vote left to them.

While I respect your decision to decline to vote, you can bolster the decision of those who choose to vote by voting for their right of choice. Whether you choose to use it or not is kind of beside the point. The use of the symbol is entirely a personal choice and that is what this poll is about.

I can see that but I have no opinion on the matter. While using this symbol(as a matter of personal preference) it doesn't take a vote to decide that for others, does it? It's not legislation.

I'm with Lynda on this one. I'm not using it so I'm not going to vote either way. I did view the topic because it was started by NIP so I thought it was worth a look.

After SHTF the P! or P+ will be a very welcome site. You will know really quick who is a freind. With no symbol you wont know who to trust...Even with the symbol use your gut and common sense. Thats all this is really for quick ID. You never know P+ could save a loved one or your own life. 0.02 cha ching

And if/when someone asks what the symbol on your car means?? well, that says it all. And http://www.prepperwebsite.com/ picked up the post.
"Every morning in Africa a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be eaten.
Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death.
It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle - when the sun comes up - you had better be running."
