Looking for a bag sealer, not a foodsaver

Postby air commando » Tue Feb 14, 2017 8:44 am

We have a foodsaver so I'm just looking for a a bag sealer. I seal bags now by placing them on a 2x4 and running an iron over the top of them to seal them. I usually seal them about 90% of the way and then run the foodsaver accessory tube inside to suck out all of the air and then quickly seal the last corner. This works fine but sort of a PITA to have everything out like that. I'm just looking for a good sealer that will allow me to just use my iron for my clothes and keep the lumber in the basement.

bag sealers are expensive...

Enter the notorious "El' CheapO" currently being extradited to the US.... :gunshooting:

A couple of O2 absorbers thrown in and something like this..... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003S516XO/ref=s9_acsd_top_hd_bw_bkOl3_c_x_2_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-2&pf_rd_r=H6SWEZ71Q8ZNPM1V8JF1&pf_rd_r=H6SWEZ71Q8ZNPM1V8JF1&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=b65f88b8-a9b0-4ef0-99b1-a07467ab5ce2&pf_rd_p=b65f88b8-a9b0-4ef0-99b1-a07467ab5ce2&pf_rd_i=11058261

you can also find one at your local Walmart or Riteaid/Wallgreens

google impulse sealers; I found mine thru a mylar bag company. Around $100, but very efficient sealing up bags with one press...

I use a flat iron for sealing bags also. Not expensive and it works really well.
