Bacon Math

Postby Cadit » Mon Jun 19, 2017 2:13 pm

Ok; we've got these three guys and their family living off the land after LAWKI hit. And they are bartering for say fuel and the guys that has the fuel says he wants ten slices of bacon from each of them for a gallon of fuel. They pay the 30 pieces of bacon for the fuel, but back at the fuel man's office, he starts thinking, he may have been a little to steep on him price and they may go else where to get their fuel, so he gives his little handy man five pieces of bacon and tell shim to take this bacon and give it back to the men who purchased the fuel.

But on the way to the camps of these men, he starts thinking how he would divide up these five strips of bacon, so he decides to keep two and give each man a slice of bacon back. Now this makes each man having paid 9 slices of bacon instead of 10. Now three 9's are 27 seven slices of bacon, plus the two the handy man retained making it 29 slices paid, now they paid originally 30 pieces of bacon, what happened to that other piece of bacon?

Answer this and I will know that you are truly a Prepper/Survivalist

I will post the correct answer on July 4th, "Independence Day"

25 pieces-fuel guy
3 pieces-returned to the three guys
2 pieces-handyman "who ripped off" the three guys and probably lost business for his boss.
Adds up to 30 pieces--sounds like the handyman should be banished (fired) or turned into dog food. Just a thought.....

Correct. Thing is the answer Cadit gave of 29 is Liberal math. The other 1 went to the people.

Sorry for the delay, Handyman777 is the closest correct answer. The math problem was improperly stated. Because only 27 pieces of bacon was given and 27 received. The travelers ended up paying 27 pieces of bacon for fuel and the manager and assistant received 27 pieces of bacon. It's a trick question.

Thanks for your input, and a hands up to Handyman777, for getting it.

If 1 and 1 is 2
and 2 and 1 is 3
