Hello from Yuma

Postby Reverend Bow » Thu Nov 02, 2017 9:33 am

Great to see other individuals in the Yuma, AZ area

I've been here 5 years, as my job is what brought me here.

I am very interested in Comms and have all the radio services covered.

With the other Yuma individuals, we should try and get a Net going On-Air.

CB, FRS, MURS... Amateur as well.

If anyone is interested, we could try to get something going. I am located between Yuma and the Foothills, around 9E

I'm actually more active on CB than Amatuer...

I have a vertical antenna, but not on a tower.... you actually have to be looking for mine to spot it...

I'm not sure where AWC is....

However, we should set up a net on CB.... I know there are a couple local tools the run AM on Channel 30 or on 19 to annoy truckers, but if you all have SSB capabilities, they won't bother us if we grab an off channel and use Upper Side Band...

I don't have that option on my cb. I recently "tuned" my antenna on my land cruiser but took too much out. Oops. It's still reading around 2 on channel 1 and below 1 on 40. Oh well.

What communications options do you all have available?

There are quite a few options besides CB and Amatuer
