You have battery powered incandescent lights(flash lights). These will eat those batteries up. You will do good to get one to burn for 3 hours. Then you have L.E.D. lights. They are easy on the batteries. Then you have battery powered fluorescent lights. They are somewhere in the middle. I have a 6 inch one that I bought at Walmart for a little over $4.00. It puts out enough light to move around in a dark room.

I have the larger 12 inch light. You can read a newspaper in a dark room easily. It was a little over $6.00

The six inch light takes 4 AA batteries and the 12 inch light takes 8 AA batteries.
