As a matter of fact I have read One Second After. I thought is was a very good read (emotional) and I would recommend it to anyone. The foreword and afterword add a lot of realism that the topic of EMP deserves, the EMP threat has been a bit overlooked due to terror of 911. I hope my copy holds together longer than my old copy of Patriots because I want many friends to read it.

DH is reading Patriots, and is now getting more “on-board” than he was. (not that he wasn’t, but he kept telling me I was going to far) Yay, maybe we can get some of the more specialized items. PPE etc. It’s funny ’cause he keeps telling me stuff “honey, I just read about -Insert LONG drawn out explanation on something-” my response “oh you mean a MAG, yup. gotta set up one of those.” 🙂 its fun not to be the one behind for once. Thanks Guys and JDY especially.

I’m with several posters here who love “The Moon is a Harsh Mistress” and almost anything else by Heinlein. Asimov, Bova and several others too. I’m a book junkie–all types of books, though mostly fiction and prepper type non-fiction.

But if you are a Prepper and you love fiction, try “Lucifer’s Hammer” by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. It’s probably the best Impact by an asteroid or comet book ever written–lots of prepper stuff in it, though we weren’t called preppers back then.

One of our APN members J. Richardson has a series of apocalyptic prepper fiction ebooks out beginning with “No Normal Day.” She gets better with each book and has started at least one additional series.

Finally, there is my own, not yet released Apocalyptic Action Adventure ebook with a prepper bent, titled, “The Dying Time: Impact” which I have ready to release but am still putting the finishing touches on my website before I put it out there on Amazon and Smashwords. I’d like to invite you all to go to my website and check it out and tell me what you think.

When I get the site finalized I plan to place a link to the APN there to direct the like-minded here. Oh, the “Buy the Book” button isn’t active yet
