If this needs to be moved, feel free, but I wanted to share this with you all. My friend and her hubby are candle makers and she told me how she makes cheaply made fire starters for their wood burning stoves. If you use wax tarts and just trash the wax once the scent is gone..DON’T if you have a fireplace or wood stove Get the small Dixie cups, the paper ones, not the plastic, get some wood shavings. She gets a couple of grocery bags full when they get new bedding for their chickens, I bought some at the pet store that you use for rodent bedding. Place some of the shavings in the cup, then as your tarts loose their scent, pour the wax in the cup. I fill it to within about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the top. Then just throw a couple in when you’re ready to start your fire!
I’ve got a whole bunch made and are saving them for when we move to our farm in WV.
