    Looks like the H1N1 Flu strain from 2009 is returning with an impact, this year. NOW would be the time to review your flu prep supplies (including cough/cold/flu meds and sick room supplies, arranging alternate child care, in case YOU get sick or consider having a flu buddy that can step in and help with keeping the family routine going.)

    Flu Hitting Young Adults In Mississippi

    The flu season is here and doctors say the disease is hitting a group that’s usually not affected by influenza.

    “This year, we’ve received reports of serious complications and some deaths associated with influenza infection in those under 65,” said State Epidemiologist Dr. Thomas Dobbs.

    Dobbs doesn’t know how many people have died from the flu. Hospitals and clinics are not required to report deaths.

    He says young adults between the ages of 20 and 40 are being hardest hit.

    Dobbs says this year’s strain is a recurrence of the 2009 H1 N1 swine pandemic, which killed as many as 200,000 people across the globe. — continued —
