Gas stations had long lines, some 10 cars deep. The SackNSave grocery store was filled with people buying everything from instant noodles to beer. Shelves with water were mostly empty, save a few bottles. “They are buying everything we got,” clerk Memory Phillik said.

I don’t have a gas reservoir and watching the Hawaiians scramble is reminding me that I really need to get one.

As was typical, the grocery stores’ stock just vaporized. If you didn’t get there in time, tough luck.

I hope everyone’s thoughts are with the Hawaiians. May this be a mild event.
