Hello. I am retired and live alone. I am struggling to make ends meet because I only have my Soc Sec to live on. I am able-bodied, but after retirement found that no one wanted to hire someone my age for part-time work.

I have spent a lifetime learning many useful skills and absorbing knowledge. I have been married and, while married, helped my husband drill our own water well, cut down and haul home our own Lodgepole pines, used them to build a 2 story log well house, used our backhoe to dig a 23 X 60 foot basement, mix and pour the concrete for the floor of the basement, mix the mortar for the cinder block walls of the basement, roto till one acre to plant vegetables, and so forth. That was when I was younger.

I also spin fibers into yarn, knit, crochet, do intricate bead work, tat, and do woodburning art. I taught stained glass at Lassen College for 3 semesters. I bake my own bread and make my own butter. I dehydrate food for food storage.

I have been everything from a legal secretary to a long haul trucker. I believe in God and I am a Christian, but I am not a zealot. I am honest, have a sense of humor, am well-informed and intelligent.

I am looking for a place where I can live for no more than $300/mo in return for helping out a small community of like-minded individuals by making things that can be sold to earn money for the group and teaching the skills I know to others. Is there such a place in Arizona? A small community of people who aren’t religious zealots, drug dealers, felons, pedophiles or socialists? If anyone has any suggestions, I would like to hear from you.
