Prepper Skills Group Skill Builder: Land Navigation
    Date: March 8th, 2014
    Time: 10:00 – 13:00
    Location: Portland, Maine

In the age of GPS and smartphones navigation systems, navigating by compass has become a lost art. Dig out your baseplate or lensatic compass and meet up with us to practice your compass skills.

We will start with a very basic primer covering the following topics:

    • Pace counting and pace counters (Do you even Pace Count Bro?)

    • Different types of compasses (baseplate v lensatic)

    • Dummy cording and compass interference

    • Maps: 7.5″ quads, declination, UTM/Lat Long Plotters

There will be several courses set up with bearings and and distance for you to practice your skills.

Note: This meet up does not require you to have any navigation experience. Maps will be available for you to use.

You do need to provide your own compass.
