I was just thinking the other day: if something ever happened to Washington DC, like a big hurricane, and everyone left, what would become of places like the Library of Congress? The Smithsonian? The Natural History Museum? These places contain an infinity of knowledge and information about our history (USA and mankind) and the various arts. This info would be a platform to not only re-build but re-educate society. I highly doubt it’ll get looted much (say goodbye to the Hope Diamond), but wouldn’t it be nice to just walk in and read all of those books?

On that note, libraries in general might become VERY important.
