  • I’m not an expert, but I’ll agree with most of the things stated here, nothing wrong with cheap, ugly, and reliable. I’d go diesel over gas.

One of my main concerns would be stationary generators. It just seems to be like having a big metal box sticking off the side of your house, wouldn’t be the best idea. It may work great for cushioning a…[Read more]

  • Having lived in texas all my life, I’d rather take 110 degree weather head on than deal with anything less than 10 degrees.

I live just inside the edge of my city, with no large cities for a good distance in every direction other than south. Dallas is to the south. I’m pretty confident that with my location, along with the size of my family,…[Read more]

For the most part, you would want to be concerned with riots, looting, and general lawlessness as seen during events like hurricane katrina. That being said, I wouldn’t trust…[Read more]

  • So far, my plans for 2010 are to –

Purchase either an AK-74 or an AR-15, haven’t decided which yet. Also looking into a handgun, probably a glock or FN. Also a good amount of ammunition for both.

Finish building my medical kit, I need to take out some useless items, get some quikclot, and add a few essentials.

Start a small food inventory of…[Read more]
